Vtg TEXACO Gasoline & Oil Porcelain Dealer Sign42 DiameterHas a few issues
This is a vintage original TEXACO Gasoline & Oil porcelain sign that measures 42 in diameter. Apparently it has been used for target practice... The farmer I bought it from got it like this in the early 50s in this condition and hung it on his barn. In the late 70s and 80s, people seeing it from the road would stop to see if he would sell it. "No" was always his answer. In the last few years they tried stealing it. These signs are very rare and still in demand even in this condition. After having it listed for awhile, I have taken a lot of heat for asking so much for a rusty, shot-up sign. So I touched up all the rust on the side that was previously painted, and will list it to the end of September.
After that, if it doesn't sell, it's gone. They're a lot cheaper.
