Vintage Nude Portrait Painting Woman Lady Oil on Canvas Signed
This is a captivating portrait of a beautiful woman. Her skin appears radiant, almost like an apparition deep in the woods, sitting on a boulder, with one foot dipped in the water.
Is she testing its temperature before going skinny dipping? She reminds me of 50s pin-up icon Bettie Page. If you are not familiar with Bettie Page, you may want to look her up. I think you'll see what I mean. This oil on canvas painting dates to the early 20th century.
The painting itself measures 24" x 20" and is displayed in a period wood and plaster frame measuring 31" x 26". Signed Michael Honigsberg (American) lower right. Condition: There is a small patch in the lower left of the painting and some light in-painting. You can't detect it from the front, but you can see the patch on the back. The frame shows some wear around the edges and could really use a good cleaning.
