UP FOR SALE IS AN EXTREMELY RARE AND VERY SCARCE ORIGINAL VINTAGE 1920s to 1930s ERA HUGE BILLBOARD SIZE HI-SPEED GAS SERVICE STATION OIL COMPANY SINGLE SIDED HEAVY GAGE STEEL WITH PORCELAIN ENAMEL ADVERTISING SIGN WHICH MEASURES 80" WIDE X 60" HIGH. 100% ORIGINAL CONDITION SHOWING NORMAL SIGNS OF USAGE AND WEAR WHICH IS APPROPRIATE WITH THE AGING PROCESS SUCH AS SEVERAL CHIPS ON THE PORCELAIN ENAMEL AND SOME NAIL HOLES ON THE SIGN WHICH ALL ADD TO THE AMAZING NATURAL VINTAGE PATINA AND CHARACTER IT TRULY HAS!!!

THE BACK OF THE SIGN HAS A GRAY PORCELAIN ENAMEL!!! THE SIGN HAS BEEN CLEANED AND NOW LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!!

THESE OLD HI-SPEED GAS SIGNS ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!! Hi-Speed Gas & Oil Stations were owned by the Hickok Oil Company of Toledo, Ohio which began seperating in 1917. They opened a large number of stations throughout only Michigan and Ohio. In the early 1940s, there were 1,800 Hi-Speed stations in Michigan and Ohio. There were 350 in Detroit, 225 in Cleveland and 125 in Toledo.

These stations were later acquired by the Pure Oil Company and the tower signage changed to spell out "Pure"..
